Tamara Lewis

Berryville, VA

Tamara Lewis creates oil paintings built with bold colors, layered textures, and simplified shapes. Most pieces center around animals; inspired by their movement, spirit, and presence. She uses cold wax alongside oil to build rich surfaces that bring a sense of depth and energy. While animals remain a primary focus, figures and other subjects sometimes emerge. The aim is not realism, but emotional resonance. Her hope is that something in the color, shape, or texture speaks directly to the viewer’s own sense of wonder.
