Nancy Ramsey

Nancy Ramsey approaches art as an experiment, beginning much of her work through studying maps, the model or en plein air and exploring ways to represent the world. Nancy builds up and then cuts into layers of paint material as she melds the images in her world with those in her mind to create a satisfying finished product. Prior to moving to Loudoun, Nancy was at The Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, VA until she moved to Lovettsville, VA where she has a studio and gallery space. Nancy exhibits widely and has been juried into, won awards and been invited to jury shows in the mid-Atlantic and West Coast.
