Ute Gil
Middleburg, VA
Ute Gil was born in Germany, where she began her artistic journey as a teenager, studying traditional folk painting and silk painting.
These early experiences laid the foundation for her passion for art. In her early 20s, she moved to Spain and took lessons in pastel and oil painting. After relocating to the United States, she took a break from painting for a few years to focus on rising her children.
Since 2003, Ute has studied under renowned artist such as Kurt Schwarz, Maggie Siner, Diane Tesler, Sara Linda Poly, and Tricia Adams. Her work is a dynamic blend of realism and impressionism, often with hints of abstraction. Ute’s bold, confident brushstrokes create intriguing textures and subtle color nuances, and her subjects frequently include local animals and birds.
