Anne Stine
Purcellville, VA
Raised in Fairfax, VA, Anne’s passion for capturing the essence of the natural world began to blossom early in her life. Her journey took her to Virginia Tech, where she studied Communications and Art, then attending the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C.. After a career in arts marketing, Anne discovered encaustic painting—a medium combining beeswax, natural resin, and pigment—and was captivated by its ability to impart a rich, luminescent quality and distinctive texture to her nature-themed works. Her creative process involves layering molten encaustic beeswax and mixed media on a wood panel, and then fusing each layer with a blowtorch.Â
Her artwork is showcased in international art competitions and both solo and group exhibitions each year. Anne’s pieces are featured in public and private collections globally, including the permanent collection of the Encaustic Museum of Art in New Mexico.
