Alex Carr lives in Philomont, VA and has a degree in Studio Art from Wellesley College. She served as a naval officer for five years before starting her own art business, the Alex Carr Art Studio.
Alex works primarily in watercolor and fluid acrylic. "Painting for me is all about flow. Water on paper or panel creates a fluid surface where color can move in soft washes and delicate tendrils. The result can be magically transparent and luminous, with fluid transitions and organic, textural patterns. I like to let the paint swim and dance on the surface, allowing the spontaneous and whimsical nature of the medium to influence the direction and emotional atmosphere of the painting."
