Based in Waterford, Virginia, Roger Lancaster is known for his nature-focused photography and digital artistry, capturing the beauty and character of Northern Virginia and beyond. A longtime resident of the region and a Loudoun County resident since 2014, Lancaster draws much of his inspiration from the environment around him. His work features birds, wildlife, flowers, trees, landscapes, and the rural heritage of the area, including a series highlighting historic barns and the character of the local countryside. Beyond traditional photography, Lancaster considers himself an “image artist,” using digital techniques to interpret and enhance his subjects. His work has been exhibited at galleries, government offices, community centers, and other venues throughout the DMV. He has received recognition for his work, including winning the “Best of Loudoun” photo award for two consecutive years at the Waterford Fair. His images have also appeared in Wonder and Grand Strand magazines and in numerous photography journals. Lancaster’s images are held in private collections throughout the United States and Canada.
