Patrice Fleck

Patrice Fleck works in pastel and oil. Her artistic exploration began as a child with a visual fascination for the shape and power of horses. She attended the School of Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba and holds a Ph.D. in Film Studies which she taught at different universities and locally as professor of Film Studies at Northern Virginia Community College for two decades. Patrice studied with horse painter John Leone, Dutch still life specialist Ria DeWit and portraitist Marcia Klioze in oils. She recently began exploring pastel with Lori Goll, Jean Wolff, and Tara Will. Her current purpose as an artist is to reveal a focal point of drama and energy as well as secrecy and intrigue.
