Doreen spends time studying animal behavior through nature videos, photographs and in person. She applies color theories to her paintings and prefers to keep the backgrounds clean and simplified, so the subject is clearly the focus. She wants the viewer to see the expressions and beauty of animals they may not see up close or in person. Her artwork and photography have received several awards.
